Time travel back to the 19th century by visiting the lavish, historical Werribee Park Mansion near the Victoria State Rose Gardens, one of the most beautiful, best botanic gardens in Melbourne city, just a half-hour drive from the CBD.

Werribee Park Mansion highlights

The house was built in the Renaissance Revival style, in 1877, with 60 rooms for you to explore. You will be in awe of the original antique furniture, and the many unique paintings on the walls.

The structure of the house itself is very impressive and some of the original parts still stand today. No one knows who the architect behind this intricate mansion was, which adds an air of mystery to the place.

High season (from 4 October)
  • Monday to Sunday (including public holidays) from 10am to 5pm
  • Last entry is at 4.30pm
Low season (from 5 April)
  • Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm
  • Last entry is at 3.30pm
  • Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10am to 5pm
  • Last entry is at 4.30pm

Entry fees

To visit Werribee Park Mansion, a ticket is needed. This money goes towards maintaining the museum for visitors to learn more about the mansion's history. Tickets can be purchased at entry only:

  • Adult: $10.70
  • Child: $7.80
  • Concession: $7.80
  • Family (2 adults and 2 kids): $33.80

Accessibility

The Werribee Park Mansion has stairs that allow visitors access to the museum and rooms, so it is not wheelchair friendly. However, the grounds, Werribee park and Victoria State Rose Gardens are all pram and wheelchair friendly with flat sand and gravel paths.

Is the Werribee Park Mansion dog friendly?

Unfortunately, no dogs or other pets are allowed in the museum.
